Really good perspective on getting your values and purpose clear, you've addressed not only the need for the purpose but it's consistency as well!

I've read about it recently and have been implementing it recenlty in my life too, it's called the Hard Rule, from Grit. You pick up something to do, something new to learn or explore, and you stick to it for three months, you give your full commitement, even if you get bored, you make sure you show up every single day for those three months.

Once the time is up, you're free to explore anyother thing that you find interesting.

4 things happen:

1. You stay consitent on something you've picked up and understand it as much as possible before or even if you get bored of it.

2. You give yourself the freedom to explore new things after you're done with this.

3. You may not become an expert in it, but you've cerntainly got something to talk about.

4. If it still interests you after 3 months, well, you've gotten something that you're passionate to work on!
